Read Any Good Pet Food Labels Lately?
Do you know what is good and bad for your furry friends? Just like “human” foods more and more pet foods contain ingredients that could lead to serious health issues like diabetes, I.B.S, poor oral health, and so much more!
If your dog is itchy, gassy, gets chronic ear infections, chews on its paws, and perhaps even lacks energy it could be the food you’re feeding him.
With so many dog food companies lining the shelves with beautiful glossy bags covered in yummy looking ingredients and healthy pets it can be misleading about what you are REALLY feeding your pet!
Here at Pet’s Healthy Choice we want to make sure you are guaranteeing your pet the most nutritionally rich life possible! All of our staff is fully educated on pet nutrition, pet disease, and of course what should be in your food!
Choosing dog food seems so confusing. How can I learn the basics?
When evaluating pet food ingredient listings, consider these factors:
- The first ingredient by weight is the most important because there is more of that ingredient than any other. All dog foods must list the ingredients of their food in order of weight. At Pet’s Healthy Choice we make our private blends with either Chicken Meal or Lamb Meal as our first ingredient we do this because “meal” is considered a meat concentrate and contains nearly 300% more protein than fresh or deboned meat which is mostly water weight.
- You will NEVER find ingredients like by-products, mystery meat like poultry (what is a poultry?), chemical additives, animal digest, and harsh unnatural vitamins like menadione, a controversial form of vitamin K linked to liver toxicity, allergies and the abnormal break-down of red blood cells.
- You will never have to worry about your pets diets being full of low cost and nutrionally unnecessary ingredients like wheat, corn, or soy!
- Your pet is safe with all of our Pet’s Healthy Choice foods which have pawsome ingredients like oatmeal for heart health, kelp for skin & coat health, and Yucca for increased digestion and joint health.
